In Grade 11, she began working for the City of Winnipeg / Winnipeg School Division and led summer camps. It was not a surprise that she jumped into the Education program at the University of Winnipeg where she graduated with a Bachelor of Education for K-7. In a bold move to Vancouver in 1990, she was embraced by the world of ESL and held various positions such as Program Director, Admissions Advisor and Pathways Administrator. She also had a love of event planning and worked with the Education and Career Fairs, hosting over 10,000 students each fair season from high schools around the province. Having been in the industry and travelled extensively to events in countries like Turkey, Mexico, Germany, Taiwan and China, her network has followed her throughout her career.
